Review for Spells That Bind #1 & #2 by Cassandra Lawson

While most mothers are worried about their adult children getting enough to eat, Allie’s succubus mom is worried about her having enough sex—and even Allie has to admit that six months without a man is too long. When she meets Dylan, a warlock with a history of avoiding commitment, he is a temptation she can’t resist. While Allie doesn’t trust warlocks, she knows this is one night only—no attachments and no emotions. Unfortunately, Dylan doesn’t agree with her plan to walk away, and Allie’s not sure how long she can resist the sexy warlock who could easily break her heart.

Determined to avoid his mother’s attempts to get him to settle down with a nice witch, Dylan has kept his romantic involvements limited to casual affairs with humans. That is until a crazy bet leads to a night of unforgettable sex with a succubus, and Dylan knows one night isn’t enough. There is just one problem with his plan to pursue Allie—she doesn’t trust warlocks. With a killer targeting the local succubus community, Dylan has his hands full trying to keep Allie safe and convince her she can trust him with her heart.

While this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone novel.

Sinfully Spellbound is the first book in the Spells That Bind series by Cassandra Lawson. This is Dylan and Allie’s story and an interesting one I must say. Allie is a succubus and Dylan is a warlock, neither were looking for commitment but that all changed when they met each other. Dylan was hooked is wants more yet Allie isn’t so sure she can trust him. Good story line, easy to follow with characters you will enjoy.

Melina Blackwood has never been tempted to get involved with any warlock. That is, until she met Trevor Dupree, a warlock who would need an accountant to figure out how many witches he’s been with. Trevor infuriates her, confuses her, but most of all, he makes her long for his touch. Turning him down wasn’t easy the first time, and she’s not sure she can resist the temptation now that Trevor is willing to do anything to make her his.

Trevor Dupree has been infatuated with far too many witches, believing every witch he’s dated had the potential to be the witch he’d spend the rest of his life with. At least, that’s how things were until he met Melina Blackwood. The irritating witch not only turned him down, she practically filed a restraining order to keep him away. Everyone figured he’d move on to the next witch, but six months later, she’s still the only witch he wants. Now, he’s tired of living an empty life, and willing to do whatever it takes to claim his witch.

One woman can prevent Melina and Trevor’s happily ever after. Her obsession with Trevor will drive her to do whatever it takes to possess him; she is even willing to kill for the man she loves.

Shawna's Review

Shamelessly Spellbound is the second book in the Spells That Bind series by Cassandra Lawson. This is Melina and Trevor’s story, and just as good as the first book. With Trevor’s past and Melina’s fear of what her demon magic might do, Melina has a hard time giving Trevor a shot, but Trevor has finally found what he truly wants and won’t give up without a fight. This is another good story with lots of sexiness, action and suspense.
