I suddenly felt trapped by his intense gaze, unable to look away. His full lips were curled into a hint of a smile as he regarded me, leaving me a little breathless. I’d definitely caught him checking me out earlier, but I couldn’t completely read him now. Rather than sitting there trying to guess what his intentions were, I decided to just ask. “Are you flirting with me?”
His lips twitched. “I’m definitely flirting with you.”
“Is it that innocent kind of flirting people do?” I asked.
“What do you mean by innocent flirting?”
“The kind that doesn’t mean anything,” I explained. “Are you just flirting because you like to flirt, or are you honestly trying to get into my panties?” The words sounded far too blunt, but it was too late to take them back. Subtle and coy, were words one would never use to describe me. I had a tendency to just say whatever came to mind.
His strangled laugh turned into a cough. “You really don’t hold anything back, do you?”
“No,” I admitted with no shame. “I embarrass my friends all the time. I even embarrass myself at times. So, is the flirting innocent?”
“The flirting can be as innocent as you’d like it to be,” he replied.
“That’s not much of an answer,” I complained.
His voice took on a dark, seductive quality when he spoke again. A voice like that would have the heroine in one of my books shuddering with need. “I would love to talk you out of your panties.”

She's talking to her friends about him when she decides to find herself a real man and divorce her absentee husband. He left her to raise his 13 yr old son six months after they married over 10 years ago. She feels like she deserves someone now that her stepson is through college and now a teacher. Cassandra Lawson's "Naughty at 30" is the second tale of the Love Without Batteries series, but you can read it as a standalone. Chelsea is trying to move on after her divorce. Her ex-husband doesn't like leaving her alone, although he might after Chelsea's little brother hit him and broke his nose the last time he attacked Chelsea.Luke gets a text from his stepmother Brook that he can't let go of. She told him to look up a profile on a dating site, what he finds when he does shocks him. It's his best friend's older sister, Chelsea. Luck has had a crush on her since he stole her panties when he was 14. He doesn't waste any time and contacts her within a few days and suggests getting together for a drink. They have a good time and Luck wants to continue seeing her. She thinks they are just friends, but Luke wants more. One person showing up at Luke's apartment changes everything. Who shows up? Delaney's boyfriend Justin dies so the girls take her to the store to replace him. Chelsea keeps trying to set her up with one of Luke's friends. She keeps saying no because she's afraid of getting back out there. What she doesn't expect is the man who offers to share his table at a cafe. Sebastian is helping his sister with an errand when he sees a redhead who catches his eye. He doesn't want to approach her since they are in a sex store, but he doesn't hesitate when he sees her again. Can Delaney overlook his age and enjoy him and his company?
