I admit, I didn’t think much of Charlie at first. She was rounder than the girls who usually caught my eye. Not my type. But when I saw her sitting in that booth alone, for the first time something in my mind or my instincts or my heart told me to join her.
She defied me.
She challenged me.
She gave me hope.
Before I knew it, moving forward was my only option.

Amalie Silver's "Progress" is the first tale in The Progress Series. Charlie(Charlotte) is a hostess at a restaurant in Minnesota where she meets Jesse, a broken delivery driver with issues. Jesse is hot and cold with her. He has issues with lots of things, her weight, his mental issues, the world around him. Poor Charlie never knows what mood Jesse will be in when she sees him next. Watch their complicated relationship grow and change and watch as Charlie does something she never thought she would. She grows into a woman that she actually is proud of, something with a backbone. This book is full of angst, twists and turns, and an odd friendship that turns to more. This is an amazing read!!!
