She cannot resist the man behind the mask . . .
As the illegitimate daughter of a Scottish earl, Lady Magdalen Keith is not one to partake in lavish balls or other frivolities. Yet at her father's urging, she agrees to dance with the battle-weary officers at this year's holiday masquerade. It's practically her civic duty! But when one such officer—whose dashing good looks cannot be disguised by a mere mask—sweeps her off her feet and into his arms, the innocent lass can't help herself. Her lips are his for the taking.
But will he betray his country for a kiss?
Navy lieutenant Aiden Murray has spent too many months at sea to be immune to the charms of this lovely beauty. Even after he returns to his ship, she lives in his dreams. But when he discovers Maddie's true identity—and learns that her father is accused of treason—will the brawny Scot risk his life to follow his heart?

Shawna's Review for #1:
The Highland Duke is the first book in the Highland Lords series by Amy Jarecki. I have always thought that historical romances can be quite tricky to write. So many things depend on the success of one. You have to get historical facts correct, not only do you have to get the verbiage correct but you must stay consistent (it drives me crazy if an author slips up and uses modern day verbiage), and it can’t be over the top scumbaggy which happens a lot in historical romances. I am happy to say that Amy did a great job keeping me happy while reading this. She definitely does her homework before writing these books and I am so happy to see she has more for me to read. This one was centered on the Duke of Gordon and a healer, Akira Ayres, who also happens to be a Gypsy. Both main characters were great and grew so much during the novel you just can help but hope that they get their HEA. I liked the other characters as well, my favorite had to be Sir Coll, I hope to hear more from him in the future. There is plenty of action, romance, and twists to this story that I defiantly stayed interested until the end. The only bad thing about books like this is that I don’t get much sleep.
