Review for Blood on the Bayou by David Burton
Newly awakened witch Teresa Diaz and her vampire friends Justine Croft and Simone Gireaux had run out of leads in their search for Teresa's abducted teenage daughter, Antonia. Their hope is rekindled by an unexpected message: two other teenage girls, victims of a vampire-family sex trafficking ring, have escaped a murder attempt in New Orleans and disappeared. One of them might have information that could help Teresa, Justine and Simone find Antonia.
The three friends hit the road for The Big Easy and are immediately catapulted into a complicated war between rival vampire families, their business associates and their adversaries--all of whom also want to find the missing girls. As Teresa, still mastering her magical powers, fights alongside Justine and Simone against vampires, sorcerers and corrupt law enforcement, enemies from the past are pursuing them all. Meanwhile, Antonia's captor, an ancient vampire named Rubicon, is using the girl for an experiment whose outcome could have world-ending implications for mortals.
From the Katrina-scarred streets of New Orleans to the most inaccessible depths of Louisiana swampland, the three women pursue tenuous clues as lethal mercenaries human and supernatural follow close behind. Will they learn where Antonia is held? Or will treachery and the frailty of human life take them to a dead end?
Picking up the storyline from Blood Justice and Blood on the Water, Blood on the Bayou continues award-winning author David Burton's exciting saga of love, loss and vengeance.
My Review
David Burton's "Blood on the Bayou" is the third book in this series. This series contains a amazing ensemble cast of returning and new characters. Burton weaves a complicated web with lots of details. So much amazing girl power! Lots of great plot twists - no spoilers here - but this book keeps you reading - a real page-turner! I can't wait to read #4.

My Reviews of #1 & #2
David Burton's "Blood Justice" is the first book in a Vampire Fantasy series. It's a fascinating read. It has an ensemble cast. The good guys are all good gals! Like Buffy The Vampire Slayer but with three adult female Vampires working together to avenge the murders of their loved ones. A couple of interesting plot twists. At times, there was almost too much going on - almost - it was a heady read. Can't wait to check out the next book, "Blood on the Water."

David Burton's "Blood on the Water" is the second book in a Vampire Fantasy series. Another ensemble cast piece with lots of characters (both returning and new). Again, a lot going on and at times almost too much to keep track of everything. You have to love gals seeking vengeance though! I don't usually read in the fantasy genre, but I did love the Buffy and Angel stuff and this is reminiscent of that with a gang of lady vamps seeking revenge. Again, there are a few good plot twists that keep you reading, but no spoilers here!

I'm an American writer living in sunny Southern California. I traveled by motorcycle through Mexico, US, Canada and Alaska. From motorcycles I turned to the ocean, building and sailing his own boats to Mexico, Tahiti, Hawaii, and through the Panama Canal to Florida. I spent a lot of time reading while on the water, so decided to write books I would have wanted to read at sea.
Having swallowed the anchor I now mop floors and collect trash for money, write for a living, and have become a (temporarily?) unrequited sailor.
Many of my books involve water or sailing. "Ancient Mariners" (water and sailing)a YA and adult coming-of-age novel is being revised. It should be available in October 2017
"Programed for Murder" (water and sailing) a Tommy Case mystery, is permanently free. "Programed for Love" is the sequel.
Thrillers - "Mapping the Glades" (water) and "Fear Killer" are also available.
"Soul Retrievers" (formally "Hell Cop") and its sequel, "Warn the Devil" (formerly "The Golden Palace") are supernatural adventures - to hell and back - literally.
Indiana Jones would have trouble keeping up with Soul Retrievers!
Watch for the third Blood Justice novel - "Blood on the Bayou" in late 2017.
"Blood Justice" and "Blood on the Water" are contemporary vampire thrillers available in e-book, paper and hardback formats. Simone Gireaux, one of the main characters is a 360 year-old vampire. The short story, "An Accidental Vampire", tells how she became a vampire. "New Blood" is the beginning of her journey to survive and thrive. A novella, "Young Blood", continues her journey. Additional stories will follow her through history until she meets Justine Kroft in "Blood Justice".
"Down Home" a new sci-fi, vampire mystery novella is a future Simone Gireaux story - now available for download or in paperback.
I have also written several screenplays.
