Review for Golden Poppy by Vivian Winslow

New York socialite, Poppy Baron, has guarded her secrets for decades. With only a few months to live, she vows to heal her relationship with her daughters and to come to terms with the two decisions that have forever haunted her.

This novella is the final installment of the Gilded Flower Saga. Readers will finally get to learn how Poppy Kent became Poppy Baron and how her daughters paid the price for her love affair with Gustavo de Lima.

Poppy first appears in Gilded Lily as the manipulative Baron matriarch. Throughout the Gilded Flowers Trilogies and Wildflowers Series, the fate of her daughters, Lily and Dahlia, and those linked to her world, became intertwined as each of the young women’s love stories unfolded.
Not all relationships have their happily-ever-after, but real love transcends everything—even death.

My Review

Vivian Winslow's "Golden Poppy" is the fifth tale in the Wildflowers series and is a part of the Gilded Flowers universe. An amazing, heart-wrenching ending to a great series. Another look at all of the big events of the entire series from a different point of view. So many little nuances. This series is such an awesome tangled web of love and pain. Love it! I don't know what Vivian Winslow will be writing next - writing this probably gave her a major hangover - I will be reading it!

Here're my reviews of #1 - #4:

Vivian Winslow's "Blossoming Flower" is the first tale in the Wildflowers series and is a part of the Gilded Flowers universe. This tale is full length and I liked getting to see the richer detail that's possible with a full length story (as opposed to the novella-length tales that make up the rest of the Gilded Flowers universe). Once again, the leading lady, Flor, has her choice of hotties. I liked Collin's brokenness. And, yet again, the sexy scenes are amazing...even if it's just a quick masturbation session, it's still described in full panty-wetting detail! I can't wait to keep reading the rest of the Wildflowers series.

4.5 out of 5 stars

Vivian Winslow's "Forbidden Rose" is the second tale in the Wildflowers series and is a part of the Gilded Flowers universe. Again, I liked getting to see the richer detail that's possible with a full length story (as opposed to the novella-length tales that make up the rest of the Gilded Flowers universe). Once again, the leading lady, Rosa, has her choice of hotties. This time, I think you know who she'll end up with. It's a little bit "Sex In The City," which is good because you don't have to wait for the end to get lots of nookie! I can't wait to keep reading the rest of the Wildflowers series.

5 out of 5 stars

Vivian Winslow's "Uncovering Camila" is the third tale in the Wildflowers series, but you can read it as a standalone. As usual with Vivian Winslow, there is *plenty* of hawt hawt steamy sex! I just love her full length novels...so much great character development. Marshall James is a sexy book boyfriend! I love the geeky talk they do...Emily Roebling and bridge-building! This is like an erotic "Big Bang Theory." I can never get enough Vivian Winslow!

4.5 out of 5 stars

Vivian Winslow's "Wild Poppy" is the fourth tale in the Wildflowers series and is a part of the Gilded Flowers universe. I think this is Vivian Winslow's best work yet! I think this could easily be made into a movie. It's heartbreaking and sexy. I loved getting to know Poppy's backstory. It's good to know she does have a heart and where she's coming from. I can't wait to read whatever Vivian Winslow is writing next!

Author Bio:
Vivian Winslow is Elizabeth Hayes’ pen name. Elizabeth was born and raised in San Diego, California but has spent most of her adult life in less sunny and warm places. Never able to call the same city home for more than two years at a time, Elizabeth moved across four continents over a span of seventeen years. Ask her where she loved living most, and she’ll respond, Hong Kong, without hesitation. She recently relocated from New York City to London (for the second time) where she may not be able to find great pizza, but being a short flight to Italy makes up for it.

Since 2014, Elizabeth has written nine novellas in her Gilded Flower Trilogies, as well as five standalone contemporary romance novels in her spin-off Wildflowers Series. A mother of two children, as well as a spiritual advisor and teacher, she was inspired to write these female-driven and inclusive stories to give the next generation more positive views of love and sex. Elizabeth’s goal is to continue to publish stories that highlight women’s strengths in all areas of their lives and that serve as positive examples of what elevated love relationships and sex can do for everyone—even men. Moreover, as a diverse female, she feels passionate about bringing minority voices to the pages of contemporary Romance.
