Review for The Long Dark Night (The Seven Sisters Series #1) by Cahira O'Donnell
The Long Dark Night by Cahira O'Donnell Is the first book in the Seven Sisters Series. Talia Martin had a special gift that could help others but left her lonely her entire life. When she saw the news of the captured Navy Seals she knew the government would soon come to retrieve her for yet another mission. What she didn't know was that the man who would help her save the captured men would also be the one person who could save her. Nickolas Pane had cut off all emotions years ago when he caught his wife having an affair but as soon as Talia came into his life everything changed. This couple faces some hard times in this book. From rescuing his brother from the grips of the Taliban, then saving Talia herself, to saving his ranch from an unknown man who will do anything to get Talia in is possession. Along with that, Talia faces the hardest decision of her life, leaving the man she has come to love to protect him or stay with him and hope they can both protect the ranch and her from the mysterious threat.
I loved this book! The sex was, well, scrumdiddilyumptious! So hot and sexy these two are together and their love for each other just had me rooting for them the whole time. The writing was great and had me on the edge of my seat quite a few times. I love finding books like this that I just cant put down. My only issue with this book was that with all the different conflicts there was a few times I was wondering why the book kept going on but then BAM! another conflict arose. I kinda felt that the book should have been split up into two books to keep that from happening. Also, I'm not quite sure why they never told Talia Who or what she really is. That is such an important thing I think they should have told her as soon as she was healed. But even with those two issues I really think this is a great book and I'm anxious for the next one.
4.5 out of 5 stars
