The job seems simple enough at first: go undercover and catch her best friend’s killer. But psychic detective Denieve Knight gets more than she bargained for when she enters Dr. Braeden Frost’s estate as a “housekeeper.” She's supposed to be sleuthing, not falling under the spell of the enigmatic doctor and his irrepressible, hellion of a brother, Xavier. Now after two months of working for the man known as “Dr. Death,” she's entangled in a web of secrets and lies. Each discovery only leads to more questions. Though faced with declining health and a storm of confusing feelings and simmering passion for both brothers, Denieve is determined to uncover the truth---consequences be damned. Yet the truth may prove deadly once she discovers just how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Shawna's Review

The Darkest Frost Vol. 2 is the second installment in The Darkest Frost series by Tanya Holmes. I have been impatiently waiting for this book and I can say with all honesty that it did not disappoint me at all.

When Denieve goes undercover to find out what exactly happened to her ex best friend, she gets way more than she bargains for. Not only does she end up falling in love with the man that is suspected of killing her friend, Braeden Frost, she also starts having feelings for his crazy twin brother, Xavier. And that is just the beginning, there are so many things going on in this story, with the mysterious ex best friend and the secrets shes hiding but also Denieve's secrets along with the HUGE secrets of the Frost brothers and the unknown question about what is going on with Denieve's health. Its a whirlwind of a story, but a very good one that will leave you glued from the beginning. This is definitely a 5 star book for me, with so many twists and turns it captures the readers attention from the start and does not let it go until the end. This is one of the very few books that has left me sad that it ended. I came to love every character in this book and although I questioned each ones motives at least once and probably wanted to beat them all at least a few times, I ended up loving them all no matter what.

I love how the author writes as well. She knows how to keep you interested in a book and make you want more. Not many people can have so many things going on in one book with so much to explain, get it all done and still keep me interested. And just the same, not many authors can write a book with so much going on without the reader getting confused, but Tanya does it amazingly well. Not once did I have to go back and figure out what I missed even though so much happens. She did such a great job with this series I am looking forward to starting her other series and any future books she has coming out.

I wish I could tell you more about the book but I would have to ruin the surprises, and we cant have that. Just know you will enjoy every second of this series.

Amazon US | Amazon UK NEWEST-TheDarkestFrost   When the ghost of her best friend begs for her help, psychic detective Denieve Knight goes undercover as a live-in domestic to catch a killer. She sets her sights on the most likely suspect: her friend’s mysterious employer, Doctor Braeden Frost. Dubbed "Dr. Death" by the press, the notorious hematologist is linked to nineteen other suspicious fatalities—all are former patients. The brooding recluse is a man of many secrets, the darkest of which may be lurking beneath the leather gloves he never removes.

Just in case you missed it, here's Shawna's review for #1:

The Darkest frost Vol. 1 is the first in a two Vol. series by Tanya Holmes. I LOVED this book. There are some good twists and turns in this book, you think it’s going to go one way and it ends up in a completely different direction. There is a cliffhanger at the end and although I am not a fan of them and don’t usually read books with those kind of endings, I am truly happy that I did read this one. Once Denieve meets her mysterious new boss Dr. Braeden Frost I was hooked. This book not only has steaming hot love scenes but it has twists and turns that will keep you on your toes wanting to know more and you fall in love with the main characters for sure, they each have their own special quality that makes them quite lovable. I think Tanya did a great job with this book and I can't wait for the next one to come out.
