Years ago, heartbreak corrupted Jared Tippins’s outlook on love. He spun the betrayal into a rapid climb up the corporate ladder, and swore off any relationship with a morning after. Luckily, the playful siren who rescues him from singing a duet alone in a karaoke bar doesn’t want anything long term.

If only he could stop fantasizing about ways to make her moan. Sure, she could’ve mentioned he works for the competition. At least she’s not behind the security concerns that have plagued his company for almost six months.

If she were, he’d be screwed on a whole new level.

My Review

Allyson Lindt's "Breaching His Defenses" is the first tale in the Love Hack series, which is a series of standalones. I love Jared & Mikki's story! I could read about them over and over. Mikki seems like a total fox...she's my new woman crush! As always, the nookie scenes are crazy sexy hawt, hawt, hawt. Grab your BOB, you will need it. I can't wait to read #2!

He laid a line of soft kisses along her neck, and then down her spine through her shirt. Hooking his thumbs into the elastic of her panties, he dragged them down her legs. “They are black. Lucky me.”

She let out a small laugh as she stepped out of the lingerie. “Glad I didn’t disappoint.” And there was her attitude. It made him as hard as the thought of burying himself inside her did. She spun to face him and plucked the panties from his hand, a teasing gleam in her eyes. She stepped close enough to rub her entire frame against him. Her hand slid along his waist, and she stuffed the lingerie in his pocket. “In case the memory of tonight isn’t enough of a souvenir for you.”

What made someone so tantalizingly bold? No, he didn’t need to know, as long as she didn’t stop. He tangled his fingers in her hair again, barely able to grasp the short strands. He pressed his forehead to hers, not able to keep the hunger from his voice. “Trust me, the memories are already enough to keep me company for a while. But when you walk out of here, at least I’ll know it’s without anything on under your skirt, the cool air brushing your skin, reminding you why you’re so wet.”

“Good thing I packed extra.” She tilted her head and nipped at his bottom lip before kissing him.

A twinge pinged deep inside at the reminder this was only a one-time thing.
He shoved the thoughts aside, more interested in the moment. His tongue danced with hers, the smooth metal of her barbell stroking him as he guided her the short distance to the table behind her. Hands on her hips, he lifted her to sit on the edge.

She never broke the kiss when he shoved his knee between her thighs and forced her legs apart. Her skirt crept higher up her hips as he stepped closer. His chest was tight from the shallow breaths he drew. The hammering of his pulse in his ears blocked out every sound not associated with her, and his tongue wanted another taste of her. Of that silver ball that teased him as effectively as her words did.

Alyssia’s animal shelter needs a boost of cash to expand its center for abused pets. When her older brother’s best friend, Tate, offers her first access to his crowdfunding startup, she has a million reasons to say yes. And only one reason to say no—she’s crushed on Tate forever, and he doesn’t feel the same. As long as she remembers he’s just eye candy, it’ll be fine. She wants happily ever after, not just happy until the morning after.

Tate’s taking the family business to new places, adding a crowdfunding portal for small companies. He just has to ignore the fact the woman using one of his pilot sites isn’t the bratty tag-along she used to be. Alyssia’s grown up, filled out, and has a sexy mind on top of it all. Not that it matters. Tate never hooks up with clients, and he’s certainly not going to pursue his buddy’s sister.

When Alyssia’s shelter suffers from slanderous press, the backlash threatens both their businesses. They find stress relief in each other, and an unforgettable night of no-strings passion. The fallout will destroy families, careers, and lifelong friendships if Tate and Alyssia can’t admit how they really feel.

Warning: This book contains a woman who's been crushing on her brother's best friend for ages, a wealthy hero with a soft spot for puppies, and a lot of naughty, after-hours fooling around.

My Review

Allyson Lindt's "Sheltering His Desire" is the second tale in the Love Hack series, but you can read it as a standalone. Awww...love the sweet animal shelter bits of this. I love the "make out" scenes (you always need to spank it while reading Allyson Lindt!). The pacing is so good in this - not too fast or too slow. Tate is some serious mancandy.  I read this one last and this is another really good series by Allyson.

Her toes slid higher on his thigh, and she paused when the landscape changed and she brushed his erection. He inhaled sharply through clenched teeth. Had she really made him hard just with a line of questions? The thought both terrified and excited her.

“The right guy is out there.” His words were strained. Any of the humor that usually lined his voice was gone. “And you’ll meet him, and you’ll know when you do that he’s different.”

Of course. Just like eight years ago. Except this time, she was licking too many wounds to want to stop. His rejection back then, this bullshit online. It all jumbled into a mess, reminding her how much she normally held back around Tate, and that she’d never gotten over him. She draped her arms around his neck. “What if the right guy is you?”

Faster than she could blink, he grabbed her wrists, stood, and pinned her palms to the desk. He pushed her upright and slid between her legs at the same time, standing close enough heat radiated between them. Her pulse kicked into overdrive, and want slid through her. The intensity in his gaze made her mind stall.

He scraped his teeth up her neck, and she bit her tongue to hold back her whimper. Her pulse screamed for more, bringing every nerve ending to life. His warm breath on her skin was tantalizing and tempting, and she needed him to take this further. To feel his tongue explore her, his hands strip her bare. Every inch of his flesh against hers.
His whisper brushed her ear. “I promise I’m not.”

“So everything you’re saying is just lip service.” Irritation tinged her desire, making it surge. He was so sure he knew what was best for her, and she was sick of that. She scooted closer, rubbing his erection each time she shifted her weight. He was definitely interested. What would it take to shatter his defenses?

“If we ever hooked up, it would be because you actually wanted me, not because you were hurt and wanted someone to take your frustrations out on.”
That pushed another button of defiance. Heat—fury, desire, all of it mingled and seared her veins. She didn’t know what to focus on, so she let it all course through her. “I do want you, and you know it.”

He ducked his head closer without warning, still holding her hands captive, and crushed his mouth against hers. His groan mingled with hers when she ground against him. His tongue forced its way into her mouth. His insistent shaft pressed between her legs, making her go from damp to wet in an instant, and her nipples strained against her bra. So this was what it was like to feel sparks.

He broke away as quickly as he’d dived in, breaking all contact as he stepped back. Disappointment and longing surged inside her. His steady gaze locked on her face. “You deserve better than what I’m offering, even for just a night. Trust me.”

Fourteen years ago, Vivian and Damon chose their careers over each other, and walked away from a once-in-a-lifetime love.

Their worlds collide again when Damon is appointed Head Attorney for a defendant that could bring Vivian's entire network security company crashing down around her.

As sparks fly and old passions resurface, Damon promises they can keep the past and present separate. He demands control in the bedroom, but they agree to keep things professional in the outside world. Each time he ties her up, pins her down, and commands her pleasure, the line between then and now blurs a little more.

One of them has to surrender everything if they want to stay together, and both wonder if they're strong enough to walk away from their passions a second time.

My Review

Allyson Lindt's "Securing Her Surrender" is the third tale in the Love Hack series, but you can read it as a standalone, I did. Damon is soooo sexy...he makes me wanna get all growly and crawl across the floor naked. I love how she calls him "Counselor" too when she's trying to be formal in front of people. I don't want to spoil too much, but I love their backstory and how the storytelling switches back and forth between then and now. I can't wait to read #1 and #2 in the series! And just in case you need a little extra on these lovers, there is a Christmas short called "Surrendering Her Christmas" that follows up with Vivian and Damon in the "Sexy to Go Christmas 2015 Edition: 13 Sexy-hot Holiday Shorts" collection (http://www.amazon.com/Sexy-Go-Christmas-2015-Sexy-hot-ebook/dp/B0190NOQJ8/).

“I never forgot how gorgeous you are naked.” He rolled up his shirt sleeves. When he loosened his tie, instinct and memories cranked her pulse higher, until it pounded against her throat and ears. “I’m tempted to shove you up against the couch right now, and fuck you until you scream.”

She bit the inside of her cheek, tempted to argue. Fast and frantic was fine sometimes, but it wasn’t what she wanted tonight, and she wouldn’t be impressed if that was his intention. “Whatever you think is best.”

He smirked and shook his head. “At least say it like you mean it.”

She shrugged. “Make me mean it.”

“I will.” When he removed his tie, the breath caught in her throat.

He relocated behind her, not touching her. She started to turn her head, to see where he’d gone, and his palm collided with her ass. The slap sent a pleasant sting through her, and she sucked in sharply through her teeth.

“I said, don’t move.” His voice was closer than she expected. He fitted something over her eyes, blocking the world from view. Given the width and the way it tightened around her head, she assumed it was his necktie. Her heart hammered at the loss of one sense, and the rest of her kicked into high alert. She heard nothing but her own breathing, the blood rushing in her ears, and the city outside.

She could smell him, though. The faint aftershave. The same scent she remembered, all these years later, that promised more.

“Top floor condo.” His voice was distinct, but she couldn’t feel him. “Living above most of the other buildings in the city, with a gorgeous view through that picture window. The one with the blinds open. I’m curious what you do out on that balcony.”

A lot of things.

He spanked her again, the loud slap echoing through the room. The sting lingered longer on her skin this time. “I’m not asking me. I’m asking you. What do you do out there?”

“Watch the city. Get some sun. Enjoy being removed from all the insanity, even though I’m right in the middle of it.”

“That’s it?”

She thought about holding back the answer, but telling him about it was as enticing as being spanked. “Sometimes, I’ll go out there to sunbathe in a two-piece. I’ll strip my top off, to avoid tan lines, of course.”

“Of course.” He didn’t sound as if he believed her for a second.

She didn’t know what made her wetter, remembering the moment, or telling him aloud. “I’ll rub the lotion over my breasts, spending longer than I need to, then slide my fingers between my legs. I stroke myself, wondering if anyone can see me. If anyone is watching, until I come.”

He glided his palm over her butt, barely making contact with the still-tender skin, and slipped a finger between her legs. “So you’re turned on by the idea someone might look over here and see you naked, blindfolded, and helpless.”

“Maybe.”

He slapped her—the other cheek this time. “Yes or no?”

“Yes.”

He pressed his chest to her back again and kissed along her shoulder. “I feel your heart pounding. Slamming inside you like a jackhammer. Did you miss this?”

“Desperately.”
