Review for As Cold As Ice (Dangerous Creatures #3) by Mandy Rosko
As Cold As Ice
Dangerous Creatures Series Book 3
Stand Alone
by Mandy Rosko
Genre: Paranormal Romance
As a former hunter, and a paranormal in hiding, Jessica Frost knew of the dangers of being caught.
Well, she'd been caught. Jessica had stupidly revealed her powers of ice and snow to save her friends, and now she was in shackles, in a box, being examined and forced to fight to survive. But she'd trained for this. Jessica had to live long enough to make a plan, to escape. Luckily, she has something in her back pocket.
That plan is Soren Birgir, kind of quiet, kind of cute—okay, gorgeous. He's a lab rat working for Head Office, studying the creatures brought in, but also a paranormal himself. Jessica can't put her finger on exactly what he is, but it's something big and powerful, and one wrong word from her could put him in a box next to hers. Strangely, Soren doesn't resist. Maybe that crush he'd seemed to have on her had been the real deal after all. Well, that was a downer. He was handsome, and she liked kissing him—really liked it—but Jessica couldn't afford to get close. She couldn't afford to be swept away whenever Soren did something that made her heart ache.
Like stand up for her and protect her. The feeling it brought made her weak in the knees. Weak enough to desire him, to want to escape with him. Something that would be entirely impossible. Unless a miracle happened, one person would have to stay for the other to go, and Jessica was determined that it be her, even if it ripped her heart in half to do it. Her powers were over the cold, so it wasn't a stretch that she could make her heart cold to her feelings long enough to leave Soren behind. Right?
Shawna's Review
As Cold as Ice is the third novel in the Dangerous Creatures series by Mandy Rosko. Jessica Frost has been captured, and it doesn’t look good for her at all. Not only are the hunters angry with her for deceiving them all this time, but the paranormals they put in her cell with her are angry as well. I mean what kind of paranormal goes around capturing their own kind and handing them over to the enemy? Her only hope is that either her brother will help bust her out or Sorin Birgir, her ex co-worker who is also a paranormal in disguise will help get her out. If neither of them can come through she just might have to help the enemy once more just to find a chance at freedom.
This book is not as fast paced as the first two but it is still pretty good. You find out a lot of things and people aren’t as they seem and there is another mysterious force called the resistance at play that is bringing more mystery to the series. I can’t wait to see where the next book leads us.

AS COLD AS ICE is the third book in Mandy Rosko’s DANGEROUS CREATURES series. The DANGEROUS CREATURES series contains stand-alone stories about paranormals living amongst people without powers, and can be read in any order.
The DANGEROUS CREATURES series includes:
Burns Like Fire
A Shock To Your System
As Cold As Ice
Let Me Play A Trick On You – coming soon!
Just in case you missed them, here are Shawna's reviews for #1 & #2:
Burns like Fire is the first novel in the Dangerous Creatures series by Mandy Rosko. Jack Marilla fell in love years ago to a fiery redhead who wasn’t what she seem and when she told him her secret he kept it and told her his in return. It doesn’t seem she was as understanding because right after he exposed who he was his family was all killed in a fire and she, a fire starter, disappears never to be seen again. Until today, today Jack has finally found her and is determined to put his evil ex, Cindy Chase, where she belongs, in a black box to be taken to jail, or wherever it is they take the paranormals once he catches them. The problem is that nothing is as it seems and as soon as he captures her the past comes back full force and he finds out things he never even thought could happen. Is Cindy truly evil or was she betrayed just as he thought he was?
This was a really good fast paced book that had action from the beginning to the end. I am hooked on this series and can’t wait to read the next two.

A Shock to Your System is the second novel in the Dangerous Creatures series by Mandy Rosko.
Jamie Holland is a paranormal just like his best friend Cindy and when she goes missing he gets scared, nervous, and accidentally takes out the power of an entire city block. This catches the eye of a paranormal hunter, Ethan Frost. The worst part is that when Jamie finally sees the man that has been chasing him he realizes that he has been dating and even, maybe, falling in love with him. This is not just a surprise to him, Ethan is just as surprised and after Jamie saves his life Ethan has a hard time turning him in. This leaves them both on a run for their lives and also searching for Jamie’s sister. Can they work together and get to safety or will the hunters find them first?
Another fast paced novel that I was glued to from the beginning. Loved these two guys and the love connection they have with each other. I am really starting to like this new series, it is defiantly a new twist to the paranormal world and she is laying it out perfectly. There seem to be many more stories in the future and I for one will be reading them.

USA Today Bestselling and award winning author Mandy Rosko loves writing paranormal romances with werewolves, dragons and people with special powers. She is the author of the Things in the Night Series, Night and Day, and the Dangerous Creatures Series.
She does M/F, M/M, a touch of medieval under her other pen name, Rizzo Rosko, and pretty much anything else she's in the mood to write (which makes things confusing for readers since that means she's too much of a flake to stick to any one brand).
Favorite authors right now are anyone who writes dangerous and tortured heroes ;)
